Four Portsmouth breweries – The Portsmouth Brewery, Redhook Brewery, Smuttynose Brewing Co., and Earth Eagle Brewings — are working together with Strawbery Banke Museum to present this year’s special exhibit, “Tapping Portsmouth: How the Brewing Industry Shaped the City,” opening May 1, with additional sponsorship from Kennebunk Savings Bank.
By now, you’ve probably heard about the newest place downtown to grab delicious food and drink – In’finiti Fermentation & Distillation. Being a new brewery (and distillery) I, of course, had to go down to think about the merits of the beer that they are currently brewing. What I found was not what I was expecting – but definitely worth a taste.

A few months ago, I lamented that one of my favorite places to hang out, Portsmouth NH, was devoid of just one good “craft beer bar.” Sure, there’s the Portsmouth brewery, and The Coat of Arms, but the Coat specializes in English beer, and you don’t always want to go to a brewery to pick up good beer on tap. So when I heard about plans for a 100+ tap bar right on Market Square, I got kind of excited.
